πŸͺ’ Kick off Macrame Monday with These Fun Finds! 😊

Hey Reader,

It's Macrame Monday!

Today, I've got lots of fun stuff to share with you, and I hope you enjoy this new email format-

Let's dive right in and get started!

πŸͺ’ Macrame Knot of the Week - Half Hitch Knot

The half hitch knot is a versatile and simple knot that you can use for lots of different applications!

This is how to make a half hitch knot going to the right. (To make one going to the left, it’s the same, but in reverse.)

If you want to keep going and do alternating half hitch knots, you just skip the first cord on the left and do the next row in between each knot of the previous row. You'll also skip the last cord.

Then you'll repeat row one and two back and forth until the section is as long as you want!

This knot is great for wall hangings and macraweaves, when you have an area that needs some texture but you want to keep it pretty simple.

Try doing it with two cord at a time for a different look 😊.

And if you want step by step photo tutorials like this for 60 different macrame knots & knot patterns that you can print out or use digitally while you're knotting away, be sure to check out my 60 Macrame Knots & Knot Patterns ebook!

✨ Free Macrame Pattern of the Week

This free macrame bag pattern is perfect for trips to the grocery store or a day at the beach.

And the straps are so nice and comfy, thanks to the 4 strand braid!

When I originally made this pattern, I used 3 mm single strand cotton string, but you could do it with 4 mm or 5 mm string too- you'd just want to increase the cord lengths (and you can use my Macrame Cord Size Calculator to do that super easily!)

😍 Macrame Supplies Spotlight

This bamboo string in natural white is some of the softest and shiniest macrame material you'll ever use!

I have this in a lovely brown color and it's absolutely a dream to work with.

It adds a beautiful luster and sheen to your project, and when you brush out the fringe it's gorgeous.

According to their site:

"Bamboo is a 100% biodegradable, plant-sourced material. It's easy to grow, matures quickly, and produces 35% more oxygen than most plants. It is also an incredibly strong and durable material, while also being pliable, so it provides the perfect raw material for producing rope fibers."

That's it for today!

I hope you have a wonderful week and I'll talk to you again soon--
