Macrame Inspiration of the DayOh macra-weaves. How I love thee. Isn't this picture absolutely gorgeous? It's not mine- it's from one of my favorite fiber artists, Rianne from Teddy and Wool, and I was so excited when she gave me permission to share her beautiful work with you. Last week I got an email asking if I had any tutorials for weaving, and I do have one tutorial for a macra-weave wall hanging. But I'd really like to get more into this style of fiber art. I'm working on a wall hanging right now that is totally a random creativity dump where I'm just going with whatever comes out. So far, mostly good. I've already gotten past the "I hate it" point, where I decide it's terrible and I want to throw it out the window and pretend like it never happened. Then, I had a different idea and made a few changes and now I love it again. It seems like there's always a point in a project like this where you feel like it's a total fail. One thing I've always struggled with is letting myself create freely and not worrying about wasting supplies, wasting time, or not being good enough. Do you ever feel like that? Don't let the fear of making a mistake hold back your creativity! Get in there, use up some cord, and play around until you create something you're proud of. That's living.
