πͺ’ Macrame Monday | Officially ornament season

Hey Reader π
Is it too early to talk about Christmas?
Some people might say yes. Crafty people know that if you want handmade ornaments on the tree by December, you start knotting at minimum in November.
So... consider this your official kickoff to ornament season. π
Here's a quick word from the sponsor of today's newsletter, and then we'll dive right in!
π MONDAY MAKE
A tiny tree you can actually finish in time
If this one looks familiar, itβs because I shared it on Friday too. Itβs just too fun not to share twice. π (And I updated the finished photos so I want to show it off, lol)
This boho macrame Christmas tree is a little wall hanging made with rows of double half hitch knots that shape the tree, finished off with a wrapping knot at the base.
Hang it on the wall, on a door, or maybe even on the tree. (Is it weird to hang a tree on a tree?)
There's a step-by-step photo tutorial plus a full video, so you can follow along whichever way you like.
When you finish a wrapping knot (like the one at the base of the tree I just mentioned), you pull the top tail to draw the little loop up under your wraps.
Pull slowly and stop when the loop is about halfway up, tucked inside.
If you pull too hard, the loop can shoot right out the top and the whole thing falls apart.
Sometimes if you wrap really tight, it's difficult not to over pull it, so you know, make it tight but not TOO tight.
And if one little tree turns into "okay, now I want a whole set of ornaments," I've got you covered.
πͺ’ NEXT LEVEL KNOTTING
17 Christmas patterns, and the Macrame Tree is included
The Merry Macrame Christmas Collection puts all 17 of my macrame Christmas patterns in one printable download, including this tree and my angel wings wall hanging.
You also get three kinds of gnomes, two angels, a snowflake, a popular mini wreath, dried orange slices, cinnamon sticks, and more fun stuff.
That's enough to deck out a whole tree, or knot a little stack of gifts for everyone on your list.
I'm teaching at the Elves' Workshop, a free online craft summit November 10 through 12, all about handmade holiday gifts.
A whole lineup of makers is teaching, so you can pick and choose what you want to make.
My workshop is "Coil a Handmade Gift Basket (Where the Wrapping Is the Gift)." You'll make a little coiled basket that holds the gift, and the person you give it to gets to keep the basket too.
(I also include my hot cocoa mix recipe if you wanna stash that in the basket, plus printable labels!)
If you've got macrame cord in your stash, you're already halfway to the supplies. (I'm using 5 mm Bobbiny braided cord, it's so easy to coil baskets with.)
It's free to sign up, and I'll remind you again before it starts.
That's it for today! Hit reply and tell me: which ornament is going on your tree first this year?
Happy knotting, and I'll talk to you next Monday-
