Hey Reader π
Just popping in to give you a quick sneak peek of the project I'm teaching at the Creator Summer Camp (coming up June 16-17).
So here's the plan:
We're making a chunky outdoor macrame plant hanger in two colors of 6mm Bonnie craft cord.
It's designed to hold one of those big 18" hanging baskets you'd normally hang from a shepherd's hook or a porch hook with the metal chain. (You know the ones, with the coconut liner.)
Instead of the regular chain it comes with (boring), you slide the basket right into the macrame hanger and hang it up.
here's one I made with bright teal cord!
Way cuter than the chain, and you can use whatever color cords you want to really add a pop to your yard!
The knots themselves are very beginner-friendly. If you've never done macrame before, you can absolutely follow along.
If you have done macrame before, the chunky cord and two-color setup is a fun upgrade from the usual indoor cotton plant hanger.
Supplies you'll need:
6mm Bonnie craft cord in two colors (I'll have my exact colors and cut lengths listed in the workshop)
A sturdy metal S hook (to hang it if your outdoor hook has a small hanging hook like mine did)
An 18" wire hanging basket (the kind from the garden center) + coco coir liner
Scissors
Tape (to hold your cords to the desk at the beginning)
That's mostly it, plus if you want to plant some flowers inside when you're done, grab some potting soil and planties!
